Living simply and serving others - join a new religious community in Dorset

A new Franciscan inspired community in Dorset is open to two new members.

The Wave Reaches' has been set up by Rev Lindy Cameron, who first discerned God's call to set up a community more than a decade ago.

Lindy says: 'This is a journey that started over a decade ago with a trip to Ffyald y Brenin Retreat Centre when I first heard God calling me to setting up a community. I had no idea how or when that would happen but I held onto the vision/dream that one day it would. It led to me training for ordination as a Pioneer priest after a life time of service in a lay capacity. I served my curacy at Hilfield Friary near Dorchester to prepare by living and serving in a community. I am also now a Franciscan Third order Tertiary. The vision has developed over the years. It has been an incredible journey and this is but a snippet of how God has guided me and opened doors which has finally led me to my post of house for duty with permission to start a Franciscan inspired community. My heart is for community working together "Rev Lindy Cameron, a stone carver, has set up a new community in Dorset

Lindy is a stone carver and is involved with a stone carving group in Langton Matravers, offering tutoring as well as carving herself, and is involved in a project with the local school, creating carvings for the church of St Nicholas of Myra in Worth Matravers. She said fellow community members would be invited to share their own calling and skills with the local community and the churches of Langton, Worth and Kingston.

The community has space for two single women to join in living at the Reectory in Langton Matravers, near Swanage.

Those who wish to live in community, follow a rhythm of daily prayer, and actively engage with the communities of Langton, Worth and Kingston and be part of the churches life, are invited to email: revlindyjane@gmail.com
