Roma Holocaust Memorial Day
Join the 10th Annual Roma Holocaust Memorial Service on 2 August 2026 at 15:00. Marking the day we remember the Roma and Sinti people who were persecuted and murdered during the Holocaust.
Annually, Kushti Bok organises this service. As a Gypsy, Roma and Traveller-led charity, Kushti Bok works every day to preserve community heritage, support and ensure voices are heard.
The service will include:
• Prayers led by Rev Jonathan Herbert
• Readings and poetry from Romany Gypsies
• A presentation by Lynda Ford-Horne, Chair of the Bournemouth and Poole Holocaust Committee
• A personal reflection from Kerrie Brushett following her visit to Auschwitz-Birkenau earlier this year
• Musical accompaniment from resident violinist Matt Tarling
• Ashley L. Jackson as special guest speaker. Ashley is the daughter of the civil rights leader Rev. Jesse L. Jackson Sr. She is an award-winning writer, producer and founder of PUSH The Next Generation.
