Revd Andrew Evans steps down as Rural Dean after fifteen years

After serving his community as Rural Dean for an amazing fifteen years, Revd Andrew Evans has stepped down from his much respected position as Rural Dean in the Faith in our Village team, but will remain Rector for the three churches of St. Mary’s Broughton Gifford, All Saints Great Chalfield and St. Katharine’s Holt.

To celebrate his farewell as Rural Dean, a special cake was made by Assistant Priest, Ruth Mecredy, topped with a much loved picture of Revd Andrew from last year where he dressed as a Christingle for the congregation.

It was a fantastic way to say thank you and good luck to Revd Andrew, who also received a multitude of gifts in token of the churches appreciation for him.

Jude Wright, a member of the local congregation, voiced her appreciation on Facebook: "Dear Andrew, you have been a brilliant Rural Dean and together with Jo, you have supported and nurtured us all with wisdom and love. You will be a very hard act to follow!"

You can find the well wishes on their Facebook page here, and learn more about the Faith in our Village Team.

We add our thanks to Revd Andrew Evans and to everyone who faithfully serves in the Diocese.
