Across our diocese, our churches are prepping for and celebrating Christmas.
On Friday 12 December, Sherborne Mothers' Union members made 175 Christingles ready for the Christingle service. They said mince pies and coffee helped to keep them going! In Bridport, there's been an Experience Christmas trail for the children of both St Mary's CE Primary School and Bridport Primary School.
At St Mary's, the Flourish Star Club children helped lead the trail. Children began the trail in their school, where they reflected on Mary's response to the angels, and learnt about the sacred texts read by the Wise Men before following the star. The children then walked to St Mary's Church through wind and rain to hear about Mary and Joseph's difficult journey to Bethlehem, before thinking of how the humble shepherds were the first to hear of Jesus' birth. Finally, they thought about how Jesus is God's gift to the world and about the gifts they can bring to the world in response.
In St Peter's, Jersey, they've celebrated their 21st annual Christmas Tree Festival. The festival begins a wonderful season of celebration as it showcases many of the organisations which enrich Jersey through their work of love, care and community building. It is a celebration of light, joy and hope. Please continue to tag us in your amazing work over the Christmas period!
