Commissioned to serve, our new Licensed Lay Ministers

Last Saturday 27 September, six new licensed lay ministers were admitted to serve across the diocese by the Bishop of Sherborne in a special service at Salisbury Cathedral. Please pray for them as they begin their new ministry. They were joined by others in licensed lay ministry to celebrate.

Bishop Karen said, "Saturday was a wonderful celebration of licensed lay ministry. The Cathedral was full of white and blue as LLMs gathered from across the diocese for the service. It was also good to license and admit five new LLMS Mark, Louise, Helen, Jim and Alex, who have trained at Sarum College and will be exercising their ministry in a variety of contexts across the diocese and in Jersey and Europe. We also welcomed Richard from the Sheffield diocese to exercise ministry in the Golden Cap Team. The service was followed by celebratory drinks in the cloisters and a lunch.

LLM ministry in the diocese continues to grow, and we are grateful for all who give their time and talents, as we serve Christ and make Jesus known in many and varied ways."
