We are pleased to partner with the Association of Church Accountants and Treasurers (ACAT), providing free membership for all parishes in the diocese.
ACAT is a national charity supporting church treasurers and trustees across all Christian denominations. With over 16,000 members, it offers trusted guidance on church finance, governance, charity law, and related matters.
What ACAT offers
• Clear, practical guidance on church finance and trustee responsibilities
• A comprehensive online Handbook covering topics such as Gift Aid, budgeting, annual accounts, and charity compliance
• Access to a member advice line for finance and governance queries
• Regular email newsletters with updates from ACAT, HMRC, and the Charity Commission
• Training courses and events, many delivered in partnership with dioceses
ACAT works closely with the diocesan team and partners with organisations such as CAF Bank, Benefact, Data Developments, and Parish Giving Scheme.
Accessing your free membership
The Diocese of Salisbury holds a block membership, but each Treasurer must register individually to access the member area and resources.
Create your ACAT account
This is a one-off process and gives you full access to ACAT resources:
1. Go to www.acat.uk.com and click Member log in (top right).
2. Log in using the ‘block’ username Salisbury1 and password Wilton.
3. Click “Click here to enter your account information” at the bottom of the page.
4. On the Membership Checkout page, select the HERE link in the Block Members section.
5. When prompted, enter the block code Salisbury1 to confirm a £0 fee.
6. Create your own username and password and complete your details.
