Cycle of Prayer: 10 July- 16 July 2023

Reading this week's prayers is Oli Fricker. Oli is Curate at St Mary's Ferndown and All Saints Hampreston in the Wimborne Deanery for 2 years. He trained for ordination at St Mellitus College in London, before this he worked in management accounting and consultancy. In Ferndown and Hampreston he loves preaching and helping to grow our work amongst children and families.

10 July

Lord hear our prayer, 

Today for St Martin, Guernsey Deanery and its Clergy: Daniel Foot. We pray for the community food growing project, and also for the recruitment of a youth and children’s worker in Guernsey, we pray this grows in fruition in your name.

11 July

Lord Jesus in our prayers today we raise to you 

St Peter Port (the Town Church), and for Guernsey Deanery Clergy Penny Graysmith. Thank you for all she does for the Church. We pray for the many people visiting Guernsey this week for the Island Games, for the athletes and their supporters. We pray also for the volunteers who are supporting them, and the islanders who will welcome them. We thank you and pray for the welcome that Town Church seeks to offer the many tourists who visit, that they may find peace and hope there.

Lord Jesus, 

Today we pray for Holy Trinity, and Guernsey Deanery Clergy: Jon Honour. For Licensed lay ministers: Bryan Pill and Eileen Davis. 

We thank you  for recent additions to the staff team. We also pray for  your discernment and wisdom as two summer projects begin for Holy Trinity. 

Today we also thank you for the Episcopal Churches in South Sudan and Sudan: and we pray for the Rt Revd David Kiir Mayath, Bishop of Panrieng in South Sudan.

Dear Lord, 

Today we pray for  St Stephen, Guernsey Deanery  and we give thanks for the faithful ministry of Fr Marc Trickey and Fr Leslie Craske, who have sadly died recently. We pray for Fr John Luff as he continues to minister in the parish during a long vacancy, with the support of  locum priests. We pray you bless Father Joe Thompson as he moves from South Africa to be Vicar of St Stephen’s Church in August

Lord, 

We pray today for St Pierre du Bois, and for Guernsey Deanery Clergy: Adrian Datta, for licensed lay minister: Annabel Ede-Golightly. Thank you for the work building your Church. We pray that St Pierre du Bois continues in the core values they have set out of hospitality, hope and humour with integrity, kindness and generosity. We pray that St Peter’s will be a sacred place at the heart of the community where Jesus is welcomed, and especially for children, young people and families.

Lord Jesus 

Today we raise to you in prayer St Sampson and St Mary, and clergy: John Le Page and John Guille. We thank you that St Mary’s have just celebrated the 75th anniversary of the founding of the Boys Brigade Company which continues to bear fruit for you. We also pray for the celebration later this year celebrating the 75th anniversary of the Guide Company which together with Brownies and rainbows are also thriving. We thank you for your faithfulness.

Lord, 

On today, the Sixth Sunday after Trinity we raise in our prayers, St Saviour and Torteval, Guernsey Deanery Clergy: Mark Charmley, Tracy Charmley, Linda le Vasseur. LLM: Sarah-Jane Allen. We also pray for the annual Scarecrow Festival in Guernsey and Saviours running for the first time a weekend church camp. We pray for all those involved in the preparation and organisation for these important parish / church events. In our Anglican Cycle of Prayer: Please pray for The Anglican Church of Canada
