Cycle of Prayer 14-20 August

14 August 

God of love, 

We thank for the community of Verwood and for clergy: Deborah Matthews, Michael Eaton Wells, Norman Mouland, Peter Steele. We pray too for licenced Lay Ministers: Robin Morgan, Duncan Moss, Bill Seymour and Licenced Worship Leaders: Barbara Walton and Commision Lay Pioneer: Martyn Hancock. 

We pray for all the ministry team and the Lay Pastoral Assistants, giving thanks for their pastoral work in the parish. 

We ask your blessing on the preparations for the autumn events and for the strengthening of their connections with the schools in Verwood.

Lord today 

We pray for the community of West Moors and for Clergy, Michael Eaton-Wells, Alan Butler, Lynne Morris and Licenced Lay Minister: Alyson Scott. 

On this patronal festival of The Blessed Virgin Mary, we pray for the benefice of West Moors as a period of vacancy begins. We give thanks for the ministry of all those who will support the parish in the months ahead, and we look forward to all that is to come in God’s time. We thank you Father God for the staff and pupils at West Moors St Mary's First School.

Lord Jesus, 

We pray today for the community of West Parley, for clergy Charles Booth, Sheila Thomas, Christopher Rutledge. 

We pray that your grace will bless their work with local communities in Wimborne Deanery, strengthening existing links and developing new ones,  that our fellowship in Christ may be good news to those who feel isolated and lonely. 

We hold in our prayers the Episcopal Churches in South Sudan and Sudan: and we  pray for the Rt Revd Bismark Monday Avokaya, Bishop of Mundri in South Sudan.

Lord Jesus 

We raise to you Wimborne Minster and Wimborne Villages, the clergy Andrew Rowland, Suzie Allen, Heather Waldsax, Nick Wells, Bill French, Elise & Michael Harding and the Licenced Lay Ministers and Lay Pastoral Assistants. 

We pray for the benefice, as they seek to minister to new communities in the Wimborne area, and in Kingston Lacy & Shapwick. 

We pray also for vision, wisdom and strength for leadership as Rev Andrew takes sabbatical and the remaining team lead in his absence. 

We thank you and ask for your blessings on staff and students at Witchampton First School

Father God 

Today we thank you for Poole & North Bournemouth Deanery Rural Dean: Lucy Holt. We pray for Lucy not only in this role but also in her role of acting Archdeacon of Dorset. We ask for your blessings on Assistant Rural Dean David Price and Lay Chair: John Rollestone. 

At the Deanery synod in June they spoke together about vocation. We pray for God to continue to raise up lay people within the Deanery to explore their gifting in and outside the Church. We give thanks for the ministry locally of Chaplains in education, health and the military. We pray they continually flourish in all they do.

Our Father 

We thank you for the community of Branksome Park All Saints. 

We pray for  Luke Steven – to be licenced as Priest in Charge of Branksome Park All Saints, for spiritual wisdom, for the gifts of listening and discernment for a vision for the future.

20 August

Today, the Eleventh Sunday after Trinity, 

We pray for Branksome St Aldhelm, and for clergy Pip Martin, Robyn Golden-Hann and licenced Lay Minister: Rona Orme. 

Please pray for curate, Mother Robyn, recently ordained priest, and for each member of every church, that they may humbly but confidently exercise a priestly ministry of prayer, thankfulness and kindness, in company with Christ. 

We pray for the staff and students of Poole Bishop Aldhelm's Primary School 

And in our Anglican Cycle of Prayer: today we pray for The Church of England.
