On Friday 22 September, members of the DAC (Diocesan Advisory Committee), Architects, Parishioners, and PCC members gathered to celebrate the joy in the completion of renovation projects, whether that be replacing boilers or adding extensions all projects, completed through the approval of the DAC across the diocese.
Ron Hart in his role as a trustee for ECSSSUP (a small UK charity which has been supporting Episcopal university) recently visited South Sudan after his invitation from the Archbishop (in his role as University Chancellor.)
Two new flats, developed from an old church hall, are to be offered for rent to young people in Portland as a response to the shortage of reasonably priced accommodation in the area.
Congratulations to the various churches, parishes and communities across Wiltshire and Dorset who took part on 9 September in Ride + Stride. Ride + Stride takes place annually, raising funds for historic churches trusts. Taking place on the second Saturday of September the funds raised can be split between the nominated Trust and the participants chosen church or chapel.
Last Sunday, 10 September, Bishop Karen licensed new LWL's Philippa for Shaftsbury and James for the Bridport Team. Bishop Karen summarised LWL's as 'all about using our gifts for God’s glory'.
