Six people recipients of Cross of St Aldhelm in its 20th year

In the 20th year since its inauguration, six people from across the Diocese of Salisbury have been awarded the Cross of St Aldhelm by the Bishop of Salisbury, Rt Revd Stephen Lake, at a service in Salisbury Cathedral on Sunday 26 October.

Changes for DBS checks for PCC members

As we are moving to the new systems we have reviewed our current processes and there will be some changes in levels of checks advised for some roles. With updated guidance we are now advising that all PCC members are required to complete a DBS check to the level of Enhanced Child and Adult (but without barred lists).

The Diocese of Salisbury has welcomed today’s announcement of the appointment of Bishop Sarah Mullally as the 106th Archbishop of Canterbury.


Commissioned to serve, our new Licensed Lay Ministers

Last Saturday 27 September, six new licensed lay ministers were admitted to serve across the diocese by the Bishop of Sherborne in a special service at Salisbury Cathedral. Please pray for them as they begin their new ministry. They were joined by others in licensed lay ministry to celebrate.
