The parish of Atworth with Shaw and Whitley in the north-west corner of Wiltshire, just 11 miles from Bath, is looking for a priest-in-charge, initially funded for 3 years extendable to 6 years after review.
This is a rare opportunity for a smaller rural incumbency with full stipend and it is anticipated, that during these 6 years, a suitable plan will emerge to return this post to Common Tenure.
We are a parish with strong foundations and a desire to grow. Our priorities for the coming years are to:
- Grow our church family within our church walls and beyond them.
- Restore financial stability, rooted in renewed engagement.
- Use our newly created spaces and resources to better serve and connect with our local community.
- Continue and expand our mission to make Jesus known to the young people of our parish.
- Uphold and live out our commitment to being an inclusive church.
We are looking for someone who will walk alongside us and lead us forward with purpose and vision to meet these aims. We are not expecting perfection but a partner in faith who brings their whole self, trusts in the Holy Spirit’s leading and shares our longing to see lives transformed by the Gospel.
