Making Jesus Known is the new vision for the Diocese of Salisbury. It was affirmed by diocesan synod in June 2023.
The ordination of deacons took place in Salisbury Cathedral on Sunday, 2 July. Please continue to pray for all the candidates to be ordained deacon this Petertide, their training incumbents (TI) and the parishes they will serve.
If there were as many agreements to allow humanitarian aid into Sudan as there have been broken ceasefires, many lives would have been saved and people fed. The unwillingness of both sides to keep to ceasefires brokered by Saudi Arabia and the United States at talks in Jeddah is an international disgrace and example of a lust for power by the leaders of the Sudan Armed Forces and the Rapid Support Force that is destroying Sudan.

A former submariner, a professor of epigenetics, and costume designer are among the 10 new Deacons that will be ordained in the Diocese of Salisbury on Sunday 2 July by the Bishop of Salisbury. All will enter parish life as Assistant Curates.

A group of pilgrims walked the St Wite Way in West Dorset last weekend, accompanied by Bishop Stephen. They scaled Golden Cap – the highest point on the Jurassic Coast – before climbing down to collect water from St Wite’s well, which Bishop Stephen blessed. Read more here.
Earlier this year we brought you news of 'Biker Church', a collective of 10 bikers in the diocese who found that they connected best with God while riding. Last month, a total of sixteen bikers rode in memory of a TE Lawrence (Lawrence of Arabia). Read more here.
