Safeguarding Sunday - 20 November

Ahead of the awareness day, Jem Carter, Diocesan Safeguarding Adviser, said: "Safeguarding Sunday is coming up and whilst Safeguarding and ensuring people’s safety is something we need to consider everyday – this day will be an opportunity to specifically reflect on those who have been affected by abuse, and thank those who continue to make our churches safer places." 


'Remembering' Day

Ahead of this Sunday's Remembrance Day, Westbury Leigh Church of England Primary School has been remembering the lives of close relatives who are no longer with them.  


Period Poverty

At the end of October, seventeen women arrived at Dilton Marsh Memorial Hall equipped with sewing machines and scissors ready to help at Sewing Day number three – an event organised by the Holy Trinity Church and Eco Church team to make reusable sanitary pads to support The Pachamama Project. 


The first ever 'Children's and Young People’s Networking Event'

Students from the Gryphon, Sherborne Primary, and Sherborne Abby Primary schools led the town’s first 'Children's and Young People’s Networking Event' earlier this week.


“Walk in Their Shoes”

Last month, nine members of All Saints Church in Swanage put on their walking boots and set out to raise funds for the work of the Mission Aviation Fellows (MAF) by participating in their 'Time in Their Shoes' campaign.

Amesbury Parish Church wins Gold Award

Amesbury Parish Church is celebrating after its major nave roof works were recognised with the King of Prussia Gold Award for conservation by the Ecclesiastical Architects and Surveyors Association, and a conservation award by the Salisbury Civic Society. 


Warm Spaces funding for churches – applications open now

The National Church has made £15m available to help churches across the country that are struggling with their rising energy bills. The Diocese of Salisbury will receive £300,000. 


Walking Church

In 2020, Revd Nick Webb, curate of the Purbeck Hills Benefice, pioneered 'Walking Church,' an initiative that encouraged the congregation to explore their spirituality by hiking through the Dorset countryside.
