Doug Horley and his Crazy Science Show with 650 children and young people!

In an event part funded by the Aldhelm Mission Fund, last month international children’s worship song writer Doug Horley visited Hampreston First School, Ferndown First School and St Mary’s Church, Ferndown, using science, bubbles, songs and interaction to explore the greatness of creation and God’s love for everyone.

Church of England announces £9 million to help churches

A total of £2.8 million has been allocated for 30 Church Buildings Support Officers across the country to give specialist advice on the management, conservation, repair and development of church buildings, including community use alongside worship.

The Cross of St Aldhelm 2023

On Sunday 5 November, Bishop Stephen gave out 3 St Aldhelm Crosses in a service at Salisbury Cathedral. In 2005, on the 1300th Anniversary of the consecration of St Aldhelm as the first Bishop in this part of Wessex, Bishop David Stancliffe established a diocesan award, the Cross of St Aldhelm, to give to people whose contribution to the life of the Church and the Diocese goes far beyond the normal call of duty. This award is presented to a small number of Church members who have made an especially significant contribution to our shared life.

Storm affected communities ask for prayer

Communities in the Channel Islands have asked for prayers as Storm Ciaron wreaked serious damage with trees down, buildings battered and graves ripped out of the ground. Parts of Dorset have also suffered damage, including extensive flooding in rural and coastal areas.
