Remembrance and Prayers in Great Cheverell

by Emma Waters last modified 05 Nov, 2020 08:55 PM

How a community comes together (but socially distanced) to remember those who fought and continue fighting in wars past and present.

Remembrance and Prayers in Great Cheverell

A collection of Poppies

The children at Great Cheverell Holy Trinity spent time in October reflecting and remembering in time for Remembrance Sunday (November 8th).

The parishioners worked with resources that could be shared with the children at the school whilst respecting social distancing guidelines. Parishioners created a resource pack and donated the paper plates needed to do a craft activity. The children were given the opportunity to create either the traditional red poppy or a white poppy to represent peace.

The results of which were breath-taking and were displayed in the shape of a cross in the parish church of St Peters.

The children and staff from the school were invited to visit the church during half term to see their work on display.
As you can see from the image below, the children thoroughly enjoyed the activity - great work Holy Trinity School.
