Are you keen to shape a new pastoral role?
Would you like to join an active local team?
Do you have a heart for rural ministry?
This newly shaped post will combine the role of supporting the network of retired clergy across Dorset with a part time role as Rector of six villages in the heart of the Cranborne Chase.
We seek a colleague who can work strategically with the local bishop and archdeacon to support and enable our retired clergy. This is a new role, recognising the immense contribution which those with Permission to Officiate continue to make to the life of the local church.
Upper Chase is a newly created benefice of churches that are already working well together. We are enthusiastic, ‘can-do’ people who are committed to sharing the love and fullness of life in Jesus Christ and praying for the right person to share in ministry with us.
The role will be based in an eco-friendly vicarage in the heart of Sixpenny Handley, a village between Salisbury and Blandford Forum. Sixpenny is a vibrant village community linked with five smaller villages.
For an informal discussion please contact the Archdeacon of Sherborne, the Ven Penny Sayer on 01305 269074 or by email at adsherborne@salisbury.anglican.org
